Lauren Gundrum is an advocate for personalized instruction for all students.  She began her career 25 years ago teaching at an elementary school on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona.   Since then she has assumed various roles, including business teacher, athletic coach, university adjunct professor, administrator, educational consultant and instructional specialist.  

Lauren recently served on the leadership team of a comprehensive, suburban high school in the metropolitan Phoenix area, working as a full-time instructional specialist.  She continues her passion as a visionary and practitioner to help teachers and administrators help students reach their potential through her work as a consultant/coach with Learning Keys.  

She is a veteran educator and authority on the critical issues relating to systemic and sustainable school improvement and instructional leadership.  She specializes in facilitating Data Walks training (brief classroom visits), conducting needs analysis audits, facilitating and coaching teachers in implementing research-based instructional strategies, cooperative learning, curriculum mapping, standards-based lesson planning, differentiating instruction, and facilitating and assisting instructional leaders in cognitive coaching strategies, among a variety of other school improvement efforts including, but not limited to, block scheduling and smaller learning communities.

Since the signing of NCLB legislation, scores at Centennial High School--the school where she recently served as a leadership team member--have yielded impressive results in the areas of math, reading and writing.  The improvement in scores over the last four years range from nine to 51 points, all of which contribute to the school earning the label of “Excelling.”   This label is the highest of all labels and is awarded to only 35 schools in the state of Arizona.

Lauren’s passion centers on her belief that all students can learn and tailors her training to the National Staff Development Council standards for professional development to assure the highest quality adult learning experience possible.
