Six Traits and the Writing Process
This workshop fir K-12 teachers and instructional leaders provides hands-on learning experiences for improving student writing using the Six Traits embedded into the writing process. This interactive workshop customized for the teacher grade level configurations can be from one to three days. The strategies learned are practical and can be immediately implemented in the classroom.

Writing Across the Curriculum
This half-day or day-long workshop for grades 4-12 teachers focuses on the development of writing experiences using the content from other curricula. When students interact with the content curriculum through writing, they have a higher level of understanding and retention of the material. Participants practice planning the writing experiences and learn ways to assess them without pain. When participating in this workshop, participants are encouraged to bring sample units of instruction.

Making School Improvement Decisions Based on Data
This two-day workshop instructs and prepares instructional leaders to make reasoned decisions about school improvement goals based on the current student achievement data. Participants will learn a process for analyzing the data and then using that information to create a valid school improvement plan. In preparation for this workshop, participants will need to bring current student achievement results and copies of the annual Report Card to the Community.

Making Insturctional Decisions Based on Data
The one-day workshop for school teams develops the templates for ongoing analysis of student achievement so teachers can be responsive to the students' learning needs by making instuctional modifications. This data retreat helps teachers and instructional leaders to understand the importance of collecting and using data for curricular and instructional differentiation. Participants will need to bring current classroom assessment data, criterion-referenced data, and current norm-referenced data to the workshop.

Creating An Effective School for Students
The one, two, or three-day workshop will focus on the development of an effective school based on the research of Effective Schools. Teams of teachers and instructional leaders will learn the process and participate in the development of the process steps toward the creation of a successful school for students. It is imperative that either whole school staff or a team of staff from the school along with the instructional leader and some parents participate in this workshop.
